High Street is a very old street, extending from Winthrop Street at the top of Breed’s Hill, along the west slope of Bunker Hill to Walker Street

In the earliest days, Harvard Street was named Town Hill Street; its name was changed to Harvard Street in 1836.

Cordis Street was set out as early as 1799 over the pasture of Captain George Joseph Cordis.

During the early 19th century, Common Street, then, as now, turned northwestward just beyond 14 Common Street, extending to Winthrop Street (then called Training Field Street).

Soley Street was originally known as Henley’s Lane. It was set out in the 1790s, and originally had a much more crooked path than it has today- evidently its path was straightened out in the 1850s.

Warren Street, originally known as Back Street, is a very old Charlestown thoroughfare – possibly the oldest street in Charlestown – dating as early as 1638.
