The Charlestown House Tour is a cherished neighborhood tradition that offers a rare look inside some of Charlestown’s most distinctive homes—past and present. First organized in the late 1970s, this biennial, self-guided tour celebrates the enduring commitment of Charlestown residents to preservation, stewardship, and community.

Being held Saturday, September 19th of this year, the tour invites guests to explore a thoughtfully curated collection of private homes, ranging from grand historic residences to carefully restored row houses along some of the neighborhood’s oldest streets. While many of these homes date back to the nineteenth century, each reflects how historic spaces can be adapted for contemporary living—balancing modern needs with architectural integrity.

As the oldest neighborhood in Boston, Charlestown’s history is deeply woven into its streets, buildings, and shared public spaces. The House Tour continues this legacy by bringing neighbors and visitors together to celebrate the character, craftsmanship, and care that define this special place.

Additional details—including featured homes and ticket information—will be announced soon.
