CPS TO HOLD HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS ON RESEARCHING YOUR HOUSE
The Charlestown Preservation Society is holding a "hands-on" workshop on researching your house on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 from 10 to 11:45am at the Charlestown Branch Library.
The free library workshop is designed to help homeowners learn more about their houses and find documentation located in the Branch Library needed to apply for a CPS historic house marker.
An additional workshop on deed documentation will be held at the Middlesex Registry of Deeds in East Cambridge on Wed., October 14, 2009 during the day. This is limited to the first 8 registrants to sign up by leaving a message at CPS’s answering machine 617-241-7500. You will be called to confirm your registration.
The application season for CPS historic house markers will open in June 2010 and close by August 15, 2010.
CPS Historic Markers are a way to show civic pride and
share our historic heritage with friends, neighbors,
visitors and each other.
These handsome bronze markers show the date your
house was built and optionally, the name of the builder
or original owner.
You can download more information and a historic
marker application below.
The next round of applications will be accepted from June 1 - August 15th, 2010.
